Payment nonce is missing — can hosted checkout fix it?

Yes. The payment nonce is missing error usually happens when Square’s on-site JavaScript cannot tokenize the card due to theme conflicts or caching. Connect Square Payments avoids on-site nonce generation entirely by using Square Hosted Checkout.

How is hosted checkout different from on-site Square card fields?

Many Square integrations embed card fields in your checkout theme. Connect Square Payments uses Square Hosted Checkout (off-site), which can be more reliable for sites with complex themes or caching. We also support WPForms, Fluent Forms, and CF7 on the same connection.

Do Square POS sales create WooCommerce orders?

Not by default. On Pro, enable Order import (Square WooCommerce) under connection settings. Completed Square/POS payments for your selected location can create WooCommerce orders. Existing products match by SKU or catalog link; new WooCommerce products are created for unmatched Square catalog lines, linked to the order, and stock is reduced. Custom/ad-hoc POS lines also create simple products when possible.

Can I get alerts when a Square dispute is opened?

On Plus, enable Dispute alerts under connection settings. When Square sends a dispute webhook, the store admin gets an email and a WooCommerce admin notice with amount, reason, and dispute state.
