What the service is and what it is used for:
Startbutton is a payment processing service used to handle transactions on your WooCommerce store.
What data is sent and when:
- When a customer proceeds to payment, their order details, including the total amount, currency, email, phone number, and billing/shipping addresses, are sent to Startbutton for processing.
- After a successful payment, transaction details (e.g., transaction ID and reference) are sent back to update the order status.

Installation
- Go to WordPress Admin > Plugins > Add New from the left-hand menu
- In the search box type Startbutton for WooCommerce
- Click on Install now when you see Startbutton for WooCommerce to install the plugin
- After installation, activate the plugin.
Startbutton Setup and Configuration
- Go to WooCommerce > Settings and click on the Payments tab
- You’ll see Startbutton listed along with your other payment methods. Click Manage
- On the next screen, configure the plugin. There is a selection of options on the screen. Read what each one does below.
- Enable/Disable – Check this checkbox to Enable Startbutton on your store’s checkout
- Title – This will represent Startbutton on your list of Payment options during checkout. It guides users to know which option to select to pay with Startbutton. Title is set to “Debit/Credit Cards” by default, but you can change it to suit your needs.
- Environment – Select appropriate environment for payment. Sandbox mode enables you to test payments before going live. The orders process with test payment methods, no money is involved so there is no risk. You can switch to production mode at any time to accept real payments.
- API Keys – The next two text boxes are for your Startbutton API keys, which you can get from your Startbutton Dashboard. Depending on your environment option in step three, you’ll need to use your test API keys for Sandbox. Otherwise, you can enter your live keys in Production environment.
- Click on Save Changes to update the settings.
If you do not find Startbutton on the Payment method options, please go through the settings again and ensure that:
- You’ve checked the “Enable/Disable” checkbox
- You’ve entered your API Keys in the appropriate field
- You’ve clicked on Save Changes during setup
